What to draw when you're bored !

Feeling uninspired? 

Here are 5 things you could draw when you're feeling bored:

1. An eye 
This is probably the most common thing to draw when bored and it is a great way to practice drawing eyes as there is no such thing as too much practise. So next time when you're bored have a go at drawing eyes with no reference image and see what you come up with.


 2. Bubble writing
Bubble writing is a great way to pass time, especially when you're sitting at the back of a boring class or lecture. You could write your name, your favourite artist's name, or a meaningful word or quote. Bubble writing is also a chance for you to be as creative as you like, and you can choose to use colours or just a pencil, anything works great.

3. Doodle cartoon characters 
Doodling is never boring. You can choose to doodle any cartoon character you like, or you can even create your own original characters. You could also have a page in your notebook or sketchpad dedicated to doodles and add a new drawing to the page every time you're bored and you will end up with a cool collage of doodles at the end. 
4. PATTERNS, PATTERNS, PATTERNS!!!
This is one of the simplest things you can draw when you're bored. However, you could also draw complex patterns if you wish. I quite like splitting a page up into many different sections and draw different patterns in each one. Why not try doing that the next time you're bored? 
5. Draw A Face!
Try drawing a face but with no reference photo. This is always fun to try out when you're bored because you can be as creative as you like. You could try and draw a realistic face or a more cartoon like face, either way you will end up with a great drawing at the end which is unique and original.

How to use colored pencils !

Here are 5 top tips on how to use colored pencils for beginners! 1. Make sure your pencils are sharp! It is always great to start off with sharp pencils because it will allow you to have more control of where the color will go compared to blunt pencils which will give you thicker strokes of color.  It is also important to use quality colored pencils which will not break every time you sharpen them. A few brands I would recommend for colored pencils are: Faber Castell, Prismacolor and Winsor & Newton. Hello and welcome to my blog. My name is Reham, I'm 20 years old and I am currently a student studying BA Business and Marketing.
