How to use colored pencils !

Here are 5 top tips on how to use colored pencils for beginners! 1. Make sure your pencils are sharp! It is always great to start off with sharp pencils because it will allow you to have more control of where the color will go compared to blunt pencils which will give you thicker strokes of color.  It is also important to use quality colored pencils which will not break every time you sharpen them. A few brands I would recommend for colored pencils are: Faber Castell, Prismacolor and Winsor & Newton. A more affordable yet professional brand which I found is just as good as the more expensive brands, is Arteza. If you do not want your drawing outline to show up after you colour it in, then try rubbing out the initial sketch outline and use colored pencils instead.  This will ensure you

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to draw Jimin. Stay tuned for a comparison from my drawing of him from 5 years ago compared to now. Step 1: First of all you have to choose a photo which you would like to use as a reference image for your drawing. It is always useful to have a photo to guide you in your drawing process, so make sure you have a copy of the photo on your phone, tablet, PC, or as a print. I chose this photo of Jimin as my reference image. Reference Image Step 2: Sketch out an outline of the drawing. If you find it difficult to get the measurements and positioning of the features correctly, I would recommend that you trace the image to ensure that you position all the facial features in their correct place. I used to do this when I first started drawing and it has helped me out a lot. As you can see from my outline below, I have left out the hand, and this is because I am not comfortable with drawing hands yet, so if you want to change anything about the pho

I have always loved being creative and drawing in my spare time however, I have never studied art before therefore, I consider myself to be a beginner.  I started drawing when I was around 12 years old as a way to pass time, but I found myself drawing less and less as the years went by because I felt like I didn't know what to draw and I wasn't improving much. Here is an example of what I used to draw when I was 12 years old.                                    When I was 15, I started to try and draw portraits of people, however I found this very challenging at first as I struggled with getting the proportions correct and I only used 1 pencil to draw and shade the whole drawing, so there was not a lot of detailing or shading. This was because I had no knowledge of the different pencils and tools to use back then. Here are examples of portrait dr
